October

At the very beginning of October we traveled to Washington for Ivan's final interview with Mckay Seed Company. It was another LONG drive with the kiddos...about 12 hours from Williston. The interview went really well and we were able to find a nice home to rent while we were there. The main reason we decided to look at this home was that it had a washer and dryer and we had just sold ours. Once we saw the house and its BEAUTIFUL surroundings we asked if we could just give him a check then! The house is really nice and sits on 33 acres. There is LOTS of wildlife here...which I like to look out at through the window. I am a little terrified of going on hikes with the kids, moose are not our friends ya know! Here are some pictures of the house we took while we were there. Emma is such a good poser!

Here are a few pictures of the area I took while we drove around. We are so excited that things are starting to green up now. The palouse area is know as "heaven in the hills." I can see why. Spokane is really wooded as is our house in Cheney...then you drive south just a little and you find these gorgeous rolling hills. The best of both worlds!

We had an ugly pajama "sleepover" with the ladies in Williston. It was so fun! Everyone brought lots of food and we played way fun games. These ladies are seriously so crazy! We played a game where we each had to pick a fruit then say it without showing our teeth and then say someone else's fruit and so on. It. was. hilaroius! We also did little skits using random items we found in Karen's house. Some of the ladies went swimming in her indoor pool and we chatted and had a good time. No one ended up sleeping over but we stayed until the wee hours of the morning.
Here are a few pictures of our skits...

See how much fun we had? These are from the crazy fruit game.

And one group shot...I sure miss all these wonderful ladies!

After we decided to accept the job with McKay Seed we only had a couple weeks to move. We had great friends that came and helped us which we appreciated so much. Our friend Tonya threw a going away party for us. Sad. I really hate saying goodbye...especially to this group of amazing people. We had lots of good food as usual and roasted marshmallows. It was a really good night.

For Halloween this year I made Pebbles and BamBam costumes for the kids. It was the week before we moved so it was really hard to get it all done. I usually take the kids and do fun pictures in their costumes but there just wasn't enough time this year. We did however go trick or treating with a bunch of friends, attended and helped out with our ward Halloween party, and Emma had a party at school which also happened to be her last day before we moved. She really loved her teacher Miss Johnson and the aid Miss Halan. She really misses them but we have had fun writing letters back and forth a little bit. Emma made a whole picture book for them of her at the new house and her new school. She wrote a sentence to go with each picture. It turned out so cute and the kids really loved getting it. I am grateful for wonderful teachers that work so hard to help my children learn and grow.
This is Emma and one of her boyfriends, Robert. Aren't they so cute?!

Emma at school...and with Miss Johnson and Miss Halan.

Here are a few pics of trick or treating. We went over by Kelli's house again this year. That's where EVERYBODY goes! There was seriously so many kids!

This was at the church for the Halloween party. We had a chili cookoff...tons of cookies and trick or treating. It was a fun night but I was a little emotional because I knew it was the last time we would see most of the great people in our ward.
