We had a fun 80's night with a bunch of friends the beginning of September. My friends there are really crazy and we always had a good time! Ivan opted to stay home with the kiddos that night...he's not really into playing dress-up! haha We had good food at Kami's house and then headed out bowling to make total idiots out of ourselves. Fun times.
Williston held the Energy Festival in September. The kids had fun at yet another parade...this one was a little different though! The different oil field companies brought all their BIG trucks, tractors and semi's and gave out lots of candy and prizes. It was super fun! We had lots of fun watching the big oil field guys compete at macho contests like the truck pull. It was crazy to see how fast they could get the semi going. At one point one of the guys slipped and the semi had to brake, it was kinda scary! It was little rainy and cold that day but we still had a lot of fun. They had indoor games for the kids and TONS of free food! Emma had fun on the inflatables and loved getting her face painted. Lexi tried the mechanical bull! It was a fun day. The really happy guy waving in the monster truck at the parade is my boss Brad, from Country Floral.
Here are a couple funny pictures I found of Levi taken back in September. He is such a funny little boy. He loves to play dress up with his sisters stuff and LOVES to make a mess!
After Emma started Kindergarten in North Dakota, we traveled to Utah to visit for a week. Grandmother Barlow was there visiting and we didn't want to miss out! Little did we know that she would be MOVING to UTAH! It was so good to get to see her and visit a little bit and we are so happy to have her closer!
Here are a few pictures of Grandmother with Skylar and Jake.
While we were there it was unusually warm. My mom thought I was crazy...but I wanted to take advantage of the warmth and let the kids play in the water outside before we headed back to frozen North Dakota.
Trisha brought the kids over to play in the water too! Popsicles in September is a pretty good deal if you ask me. :)
The kids had a good time together inside as well. Nothing like a warm pair of jammies after playing outside all day!
The kids were excited to go to one of Caden's football games while we were there.
Emma also got her hair permed while we were there! It looked super cute but the curl didn't last too long. I was still happy that it gave her hair more texture and it holds curl better now. Here are some before and after pictures.
While I was in Utah Ivan interviewed with McKay Seed Company in Washington over the phone. We did a lot of talking and praying that week. Everything fell into place just the way it needed to in order for us to move. I drove back to North Dakota on Monday and we left the end of the week to head to Rosalia, Washington for Ivan's final interview. It's crazy how fast things can change!
